Projects:
- Homebuilders Environmental Stewardship Demonstration Project: This project
was funded by EPA, DNR, the Pulaski County SWCD, Pulaski County Commission,
and the Ozark Mountain Fly Fishermen. Technical assistance and financial
incentives were provided to homeowners and contractors in the Roubidoux
watershed.
- Regional Ecotourism Specialist: Funded by the U.S. Forest Service, this
project will focus on developing the tourism potential of a 15 county area, in
a sustainable manner, with a focus on our natural resources. A website

- Riparian Buffer Demonstration Project - Funding through Forest Stewardship
Program - USDA Forest Service.
- FEMA Support: Application write up support was provided to fire
departments seeking FEMA funded equipment, supplies and/or vehicles.

A Sheep & Goat Workshop was held June 2, 2007
at the Texas County Fairgrounds. 73 people attended the workshop and 30
people participated in the FAMACHA certification process.
- Forestry Consultant: Funded by the U.S. Forest Service, this position
provided technical information and fee-based implementation assistance to
small acreage landowners interested in timber and wildlife.
- Dry Kiln Feasibility Study: Utilizing USA-Rural Development funds, a study
was conducted to determine if adding a dry kiln to an existing sawmill
operation as a means of product diversification was feasible.
- NxLevel Scholarships: The Council funded 6 scholarships to individuals
completing the University of Missouri Extension Service’s business plan
training workshops.
- Pulaski County Homeowners Expo: Through our 319 project, and with the
support of the Ozark Mountain Fly Fishermen Association, an expo was held for
homeowners to learn about conservation, landscaping and home improvement.
- Forestry Tour: A free public tour was held. In partnership with the Mark
Twain National Forest, the tour highlighted different forestry management
practices.
