RC&D Members

Sponsors of the RC&D serve as council members
and make decisions on activities and direction.

The Prairie Rose RC&D area consists of eight west central Missouri counties:

Ray

Jackson

Lafayette

Johnson

Chariton

Carroll

Saline

Pettis

RC&D's are sponsored by area groups
and organizations who share and have a
working interest in the purpose and basic
policies of the RC&D.

Because Soil and Water Conservation Districts subscribe to the RC&D purpose and it compliments their own efforts, they have been very instrumental in and supportive of RC&D areas by providing leadership and support services. A representative of the Soil Water Conservation District (SWCD) from each county serves on the RC&D Council.

The Workforce Development Board, (WDB) has provided tremendous support, both monetary and technical, for the formation of the Council. The WDB is the Administrative Entity and recipient of the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) funds, and is responsible for the delivery of job training programs in the counties. Because of their interest in the RC&D program and the compatibility of programs, the WDB has a representative on the Council.

County Commissions also play a vital role in the delivery of the Prairie Rose RC&D program and a representative of each county commission serves on the Council.

Strong support and endorsement from a broad cross section of units of government, organizations and the general public is essential for RC&D's success.
