How Does RC&D Provide Assistance |
| The RC&D Program provides assistance through the efforts of the RC&D members, Each RC&D has a board of directors which consists of volunteers from counties in the RC&D Area. RC&D provides a means to coordinate the many federal, state, and local programs available to communities. RC&D places a heavy emphasis on human and natural resources. Although traditionally the RC&D program focused on soil erosion and other Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) projects, using the human resources at hand is the most important factor to RC&D success. For this reason, RC&D is becoming more interested in human resource development, fire protection, health care in rural communities, etc. Specifically, an RC&D project is a local project in which residents work together with other organizations to improve their economy, quality of life and the environment through the conservation, development and better utilization of their natural resources. The RC&D enjoys working relationships with numerous federal, state and local agencies and organizations. Through these ties the RC&D can respond to human, economic or environmental resources which affect the standard of living and the quality of life within the area. |

How to Request Assistance from Prairie Rose RC&D Council, Inc.? |
| Anyone interested in bringing a need or opportunity to the attention of Prairie Rose RC&D Council needs to make contact with our office to discuss the potential project. After discussion, the person sponsoring the project needs to make application to the Board of Directors for project acceptance. The RC&D Project Application is to be developed jointly by the project sponsor and the Prairie Rose RC&D Council, Inc. It is then submitted to the appropriate committee for approval. If the Board of Directors determine that the project is well conceived and will help achieve its rural development goals, the application will be approved. Official approval of the project allows the RC&D staff to work closely with the project sponsor to provide appropriate assistance and allows the Board of Directors to provide various RC&D resources to complete the project. |
