The Prairie Rose RC&D Council, Inc., was created to provide an avenue for people to work together to develop and carry out an action-oriented area plan for the social, economic and environmental betterment of the area.

The council is comprised of community leaders who provide direction and leadership to address the needs and potential of the area. To serve in this capacity, the council must have a written area plan, with goals, objectives, and a vision. The Prairie Rose RC&D Council believes that through area-wide cooperation and coordination, it can achieve better, more far-reaching solutions.

This area plan is a compilation of information and statistical data, contributed by council members, sponsoring agency personnel, cooperating organizations, and the public (with as much input from local residents as possible). Issues, problems, concerns, and opportunities were identified and balanced with realistic strategies to achieve established goals. The council sees these strategies as beginning toward making Prairie Rose RC&D area a better place to live.
