Annual Meeting

2010 Annual Meeting

The Green Hills RC&D 2 open houses this year instead of one annual meeting.  The first open house was March 22, held at the Aquila Building in Trenton from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. and refreshments were provided.  The second open house was held March 25,  in the break room of the USDA Service Center in Chillicothe from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. and refreshments were provided.

 

2009 Annual Meeting

The Green Hills RC&D Annual Meeting was held March 10, 2009 at the Aquila Building in Trenton, Missouri.  The meeting started at 6:00 p.m.  Dinner was served and The Four Dimensions performed.  Twenty-two people attended the meeting and several door prizes were handed out.  E.L. Reed remained as Treasurer and Bob Miller remains as Secretary.  The Council had a short business meeting following the Annual meeting

 

2008 Annual Meeting

The Green Hills RC&D Council's Annual Meeting was held March 12, 2008 at the Aquila Building in Trenton, Missouri.  The meeting started at 6:00 p.m.   Dinner was served and the Trenton High School Choir performed.  Thirty people attended the meeting and door prizes were provided.  The Green Hills RC&D Council received the Outstanding Youth Award.  Steve Radcliff remained President and  Bud Cox remained Vice-President. A short business meeting was held directly after the annual meeting. 

 

2007 Annual Meeting

The Green Hills RC&D Council's Annual Meeting was held March 13, 2007 at the Aquila Building in Trenton, Missouri.  The meeting started at 7:00 p.m. with a welcome from President Steve Radcliff, followed by a meal provided by the Green Hills RC&D Council.  The speaker of the evening was Duane Parker, Firewise consultant from the Southwest RC&D.   Duane has worked as a Forestry Technician for the U.S. Forest Service in northern California for several years before returning to Missouri.  Duane recently retired from the MO Dept. of Conservation after nearly 33 years of employment as the Forestry Regional Supervisor for the Southwest Region in Springfield.  Duane now is employed through the Southwest RC&D to operate the Firewise Program.  The program was on safety tips for your home and acreage to help prevent fires.  The Green Hills RC&D will also be working with Duane on Firewise issues in the future.  After the meeting door prizes were given away.  Door prizes were donated by the following business:  Lowe's, Dollar Shop, MFA, Wabash BBQ, Pure N Simple, Big Time Cinema, Lauhoff Jewelry, Gaslight Real Estate, Green Hills RC&D Council, Moore's Farm Supply, Grundy County SWCD, Con Agra Foods.  All donations were appreciated and put a perfect ending to a great meeting.

2006 Annual Meeting

The Green Hills RC&D Council's 33rd Annual Meeting was held March 21, 2006 at the Trenton High School in Trenton, Missouri.  The meeting started at 6:00 p.m. with a welcome from President Bud Cox, followed by a meal provided by the Green Hills RC&D Council.  The main speaker of the evening was Mike George.  Mike is regionally known for his educational and enthusiastic presentations.  He will mesmerize you with fascinating facts about prehistoric times.  He illustrates his programs with actual artifacts you can touch, feel and hold - just as their creators held them some 900-15,000 years ago.  Learn how they are made and used.  Mike's personal collection consists of over 9500 pieces, most of which he found on the ground he farms around Oregon, Missouri.  He has arranged, competed and loaned his show-winning displays to such places as the Sac-Fox Reservation and the Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge.

   

In addition to the RC&D Annual Meeting, Mike presented an assembly at the Trenton Middle School.  Mike's presentation was a hit at the school and the meeting.

 

2005 Annual Meeting

The Green Hills RC&D Council's 32nd Annual Meeting was held March 8, 2005 at the North Central Missouri College, Ketchum Community Center in Trenton, Missouri.  The meeting started at 6:00 p.m. with a welcome from President Bud Cox, followed by a meal provided by the Green Hills RC&D Council.  The main speaker of the evening was "Outback Ed".    Ed Kiernan better known as "Outback Ed" lives in Eureka, Missouri. When Ed isn't identifying reptiles for neighborhood children, he's a social worker who helps people with disabilities living in group homes.  Ed has a collection of nearly 50 reptiles, snakes and amphibians in his basement.  When Ed isn't working his day job, he takes his own Wild Kingdom on the road, educating children as well as adults at schools, fairs and many other social events.  The meeting ended with a short business meeting and presentation of door prizes that was donated by businesses in the Green Hills area.  In addition to the RC&D Annual Meeting, Outback Ed also presented assemblies in the area.  The first one was held at the Chillicothe Middle School with Meadville, Bishop Hogan and Chula schools attending.  The next two was held at the Trenton Elementary and the Trenton Middle School.  "Outback Ed" was certainly a hit with all the children.
